The class will be a combination of fundamental rhythm rudiment exercises and traditional songs from Ghana and Guinea, West Africa. Students will experience the essence of poly rhythms, meditative groove, and free improvisation. The African dance is a series of movements that correspond to traditional rhythms. Also, with room for improvisation. Overall, we will learn to communicate as a team through pattern recognition, breathe through the rhythmic process as educational and healing exercise, feel the balance between right and left-hand coordination to increase body, mind and spirit connection, and creative expression through traditional rhythms and improvisation
